About the Journal

The Journal of South Asian Issues (JSAI) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to examining the diverse challenges, transformations, and opportunities that shape South Asia today. Covering a broad spectrum of political, economic, social, cultural, environmental, and technological topics, JSAI provides a vibrant platform for interdisciplinary research and informed debate on matters central to the region’s development and global engagement.

JSAI welcomes contributions that focus on individual countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, as well as comparative and transnational studies. By bringing together academics, practitioners, and policymakers, the journal aims to deepen understanding of South Asia’s complexities and to inspire solutions that advance equity, peace, and sustainable growth across the region. The journal currently publishes three issues per year, in January, May, and September, exclusively online.
