Open Access Policy

All articles published in the Journal of South Asian Issues (JSAI) are made openly accessible under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

This means that all published articles are freely available for anyone to read, download, and share immediately upon publication, without any cost or embargo period. Open access plays a critical role in advancing scientific discovery and fostering innovation by promoting collaboration, facilitating the exchange of ideas, and ensuring transparency across the research community.

Consistent with the foundational principles of open access as outlined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), JSAI defines its open access policy as follows:

  • Peer-reviewed scholarly content is available free of charge, without subscription or financial barriers.

  • Articles are published in an open-access format immediately upon release, with no embargo.

  • Published material may be reused, distributed, or adapted without seeking prior permission, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and source.

  • Copyright remains with the author(s), ensuring they retain control over their work.
