Price Policy

There is no fee for manuscript submission or peer review at the Journal of South Asian Issues (JSAI).

JSAI operates under an open access model, ensuring that readers can access all published articles online free of charge, without subscription fees.

Instead, the authors or their supporting institutions typically pay Article Processing Charges (APCs) to support the publication and maintaining costs. These charges support our operations and ensure the permanent, unrestricted online availability of the journal.

The APC contributes to the journal in the following ways:

  • Article layout and formatting
  • Technical maintenance of the journal and website
  • DOI assignment for the article

By covering these costs, the Article Processing Charge ensures full, immediate open access to your published work on the journal’s platform.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The Journal of South Asian Issues (JSAI) charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of $100, which covers manuscripts up to 20 pages in length.

For accepted manuscripts exceeding this length, an additional fee of $10 per page will apply.

This fee ensures full open access to your article upon publication and covers all associated editorial and production costs, DOI assignment, and online hosting.

Waiver Policy

The journal is committed to supporting inclusive academic publishing. Authors who are unable to pay article processing charges (APCs) due to financial constraints may request a waiver. Waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis, particularly for authors from low-income countries or those without institutional funding.

To apply for a waiver, authors must submit a formal request at the time of submission, explaining their financial circumstances. Decisions will be made promptly and will not affect the peer-review process.
